2017 saw the introduction of the Unique Washroom Cleaner Of The Year Award dedicated to cleaning operatives but this award was aimed at cleaners responsible for the facilities rather than the cleanliness of the washrooms themselves.
It’s suggested that this year an award be dedicated to operatives that are responsible for the actual washrooms whether they be an individual cleaner or a team of external cleaners and we all know how we feel about dirty and unhygienic washrooms in public places.
Judging would follow an unannounced inspection and there would be awards for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales plus an overall winner. It would be based on commitment, efficiency, attitude and appearance and the categories are Individual Cleaner, In-House Cleaning Team and External Cleaning Team.
