Cleaning windows and working at height is both physically and mentally demanding especially when you’re cleaning large commercial properties but it’s something USS have been doing for 30 years.
Windows are among the first things that people see in a building, both from externally and internally and having them cleaning regularly can improve the overall appearance of the building and allow natural light to penetrate through the glass.
Glass becomes dull over time due to oxidation, hard mineral and acid rain etc. and research has shown that windows which are cleaned on a regular basis last longer than those that don’t.
There’s health advantages too, a build-up of dust, dirt and grime on windows, frames and sills can increase the growth of allergens leading to skin and respiratory problems.
Our expertise in window and gutter cleaning can take care of even the hardest to reach areas. Our services include specialist window cleaning, reach and wash water-fed pole system, gutter vacuuming and the use of cradles, cherry pickers, building maintenance units, mobile elevated work platforms and rope access and abseilers. This is all in addition to our traditional window cleaning service and all are available on a one off clean or periodic basis.
HSE also advises the use of telescopic water-fed pole systems to clean windows and our reach and wash system uses purified water which is filled and purified off site which allows us to be able to provide this service without the need for our client’s to supply water.
USS are full members of the National Federation of Window Cleaning and hold SafeContractor accreditation, any operative carrying out works via the means of rope access and abseil holds IRATA qualification and any operative operating powered access equipment is IPAF trained. All operatives carrying out window and gutter cleaning also receive working at height training. USS takes health and safety extremely seriously to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
