MP’s are due to begin an inquiry into the role of cleaning and hygiene throughout the COVID-19 pandemic with the aim being that any recommendations to increase disease resilience, slow down the spread of infectious diseases and improve hygiene levels across the board are implemented.
A report with these recommendations will be produced and this will then feed into the National UK COVID-19 Inquiry.
As part of the inquiry they will be looking at what and wasn’t successful and will take evidence from public health experts plus a cross section of industries and associations.
A top priority will be for cleaning operatives to be recognised for the skilled labour that they are and for the UK not to lose focus on the importance of cleaning and hygiene but to embrace it to ensure high standards and correct procedures are understood and adopted by all.
Many cleaning companies saw an increase in enquiries for their services during the height of the pandemic and although COVID is not on the news everyday anymore, it is still here and yet already the industry has reported a drop in enquiries and client’s reverting back to old ways.
Here at USS we encourage our clients to consider everything from decontamination and anti-viral fogging to deep cleaning and touchpoint sanitisation, from carpet and upholstery cleaning to window cleaning plus the general day to day cleaning tasks and offer daily, weekly, monthly and periodic services.
