New research has revealed that mobile phones can present a significant risk of spreading infection in the workplace.
Clinical Microbiology and Infection found that in a recent survey, 38.5% of devices had evidence of viruses that cause stomach upsets and lung infections and it was also revealed that a fifth of staff did not clean their hands after handling their phones.
The results were thought to be quite alarming and will be mirrored across many businesses here in the UK.
It is something that many of us simply just do not think about but it’s something businesses need to be aware of. Businesses lose many man hours a year to illness which equates to a lot of money being wasted.
Putting steps into place now to avoid the spread of infection using hand disinfectants and sanitizers could ultimately lead to cost savings in the long run not to mention a healthier working environment.
