Technology, whether we love it or hate it it’s now reaching parts of our life that we would never have imagined 25 years ago. We live in an interconnected world where we interact with more and more intelligent devices. Driven by computers, mobile technology, apps and gadgets this is known as the Internet of Things, it is predicted that by 2020 up to 50 billion devices could be connected to the internet and now it’s coming to the cleaning industry too.
So how will this shift in technology affect business and the cleaning industry in particular we wonder. Full remote management of operations for customers, mobile web-based platforms for reporting, quality control and real-time management, geo-fencing machines alerting to low battery power in cleaning equipment on site and fully automated commercial cleaning machines are just some of the things we’re already seeing emerge in the marketplace.
These building blocks of the Internet of Clean will provide new levels of management, better control and business insight meaning surely only one thing, optimisation of business operations like never before and we for one are excited to see where the cleaning industry lies in technology in another 25 years.
